Newton Faulkner played to packed house at the Croxton Bandroom on Friday 22 November, but the question is… Was is really Faulker or Christopher Walken?

When you go to a Faulkner gig, you are truly entertained. From the comedic gold and quick wit that bounces from Faulkner to the crowd, to the absolute master of guitar with smooth vocals. Faulkner definitely knows how to entertain, even impersonating Christopher Walken on many occasions throughout the night and the crowd lapped it up.

For a solo performer, Faulkner is so engaging and super entertaining. Splitting the crowd to do musical rounds to his tunes, is always a winner and an easy but effective way to make his gigs feel so intimate in even the biggest of venues. Tonight was no exception.

Starting the gig with Smoked Ice Cream followed on by Brick by Brick, got the crowd ready for the the comedic brilliance and musical entertainment that is Faulkner.

Faulkner played a series of older tunes as well as fresh off the press songs that the crowd loved. Finishing his set tonight with a crowd driven Bohemian Rhapsody was just the icing on the cake for a great night’s entertainment here in the Melbourne suburb of Thornbury.

There is one thing that you are guaranteed with a Faulkner gig and that is, you will walk out with a smile on your face and a spring in your step.
