Gig Review: Jon Stevens; Mackay 12 April 2018

Hailing from Melbourne, Steven’s support act, Scott Darlow and his band, certainly entertained with the audience with his amazing vocals and remarkable didgeridoo playing. Performing his album Sorry started the night off with a bang and certainly got the crowd in the mood.
From the moment Steven’s stepped onto the stage alongside his incredible band, the crowd went ballistic. You could instantly feel the energy. The show was going to be nothing but brilliant. Showcasing classic songs from Noiseworks, INXS, Dead Daisies, Superstar and his solo career, the fans were screaming for more.
The ladies in the front row were so intoxicated by him, that they were literally falling onto the stage trying desperately to touch or paw Stevens with excitement. Then when he posed on stage for photos whist playing, it was certainly the icing on the cake for these diehard fans!
As soon as he opened his mouth, and that powerful voice hits you, it takes you to a place of happiness and joy and at times a captivating euphoric feeling. It takes a special kind of musician to reach his audience like that and he definitely nailed it! Finishing the night with one of my personal favourites “Reach Out” he had the crowd completely mesmerised and pining for more.
Without a doubt Jon Stevens is still one of Australia’s legendary ‘Rock Gods’. He still performs with so much energy and with his charisma shining though, it truly is a testament to his longevity in the music industry . This Aussie icon is still rocking out with the best of them.
So my only advice is to go get a ticket because this is one show you definitely don’t want to miss.
