What's hot and what's rock around the globe!

Geddes Lane Ballroom + Kingswood = Pure Chemistry

Melbourne, Still The City Of Rock !

Last night was the official opening of Melbourne's latest live music venue- Geddes Lane Ballroom. Occupying what was once home to boobs, g-strings and ogling men for the past two decades as Bar 20, last night, there were no strippers in sight. Only crowded floors of industry invitees, enjoying amazing food and flowing booze.

This venue is superb. Think dark dive bar but with crystal chandeliers, exposed wood and multi levels. You are welcomed in by amazing music photography latched on to black walls and a corridor that opens up to large mirrors and a bar hidden at the end of the room.

Last night we were also treated to one of my favourite bands, Kingswood. This band just knows how to put on a show. Getting the crowd involved and passing around the microphone, the boozed up and fed crowd were loving it. Performing on the stage that still had evidence of where the dancing polls were, Kingswood were a fitting act to kick of what will be an iconic music venue once again. Future acts will be booked by The Venue Collective which will also enforce success with this great new venue.

Just when you thought that this amazing venue could not get any better, add the delights of local celebrity chef Shannon Bennett of Vue De Monde fame. If last night's delectable samples were anything to go on, patrons will be completely satisfied with Geddes Lane Ballroom.

Its dark, mysterious and delicious........ and has Melbourne written all over it..
