Album Review: Circles ‘The Last One’

Popping on the new album for CirclesThe Last One (out 31 August through Wild Thing Records) , I wasn’t sure what to expect. I had been drip fed amazing singles prior to the full release and I must say I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this beauty in full.

The Melbourne based four piece have provided a delicious array of prog-rock that whilst each song is very different, still holds the signature Circles sound. This album is built with strong bass lines, lyrical guitar solos and the synonymous hard kick drums. Adding strong vocals from Ben Rechter, prove that Circles deserve the accolades of recent festival appearances such as PROGFEST and tours with powerhouse heavyweights such as American Periphery and Fear Factory as well as home grown Twelve Foot Ninja.

This album is bursting with tunes that make you want to just get shit done! The hard melodic bass lines, heavy beats and vocals are highly motivational. If there was one album that you need to listen to when you are in a funk or just need a pep talking to; This is it! I am definitely looking forward to seeing these guys on stage and what they produce next. Next stop: World Domination. 4 stars!
